Previously I had ordered a horror blind box for one off purchase. I absolutely loved it so decided to get a subscription. The fact that with the subscription you can more info for a more personalized book choice is amazing. First book choice was exactly the type of book I crave to read. Just got the 2nd month and haven't started it yet but it's an author I love and a book I had my eye on. 2 for 2! The extra goodies are also excellent. A variety of snacks and drink mixes so you don't get the exact same ones in each box. The bookmark and sticks are so cute. 😍 Definitely worth it!

A Blind Date with a Book is a brand-new book you pick without seeing the title, author or cover. It arrives hand-wrapped with only a few hints about the story inside, so you meet it with no expectations and no spoilers — the closest you'll get to finding a book the way it was meant to be found.
Every book is new. They come direct from authors, publishers and distributors, get hand-picked by a real person, and are wrapped in artwork we design in-house. Already own the one we send? Tell us and we'll swap it. Not feeling it at all? You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
Are the books new or used?
All the books we ship out are NEW and are either direct from the the publishers, authors or book distributors. We never send used books.
What if I already own the book I receive?
While we do our best to avoid common titles and keep our selections fresh, there’s always a chance you might receive a book you already own. If this happens, you can contact our customer service at support@blindlybooks.com and we'll help you start the exchange process.
How long does shipping take?
Orders typically ship within 8–10 business days. Delivery times vary by location, but most U.S. orders arrive within a week. We are a small two person team and try our best to get every order out as quickly as possible.
When do I get my Birthday Blind Date?
Book club members get a free extra Blind Date for their birthday — a little surprise tucked into their box, in the genre of their choice or a surprise one.
When it arrives: it goes into the box that ships in your birthday month, or the one straight after. Which one depends on where your monthly renewal falls relative to your birthday, and on how early your birthday is on file.
How to add your birthday: sign in to your account and add it under Profile → 🎂 Birthday Book. You can choose a genre for your birthday book there too. The earlier it's on file the better — ideally well before your birthday month. Step-by-step guide
Can I set my reading preferences?
Yes. Tap Set reading preferences before you add to cart and tell us which genres and themes are hard nos — a genre you never reach for, or content you'd rather not read. We'll never send a book that hits one.
Your preferences travel with the order, and for book club members they carry over to every renewal, so you only set them once. You can change them any time.
Can I choose the genre? Can I change it later?
You choose. There are 11 genres to pick from, and if you'd rather we surprise you completely, Wild Card pulls from any of them.
Book club members can change genre every month, so you're never locked into one thing. Not sure which to pick? Take the book quiz and we'll suggest one.
